Eric Dane‘s girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff is returning to social media for the first time following the actor’s devastating death.
The Grey’s Anatomy star passed away at the age of 53 on February 19, 2026 following a battle with ALS, which he announced just 10 months ago.
On Friday (February 20), Janell took to her Instagram Story to pay tribute to Eric.

If you didn’t know, Eric and Janell made their red carpet debut in June 2025 at the premiere of his TV show Countdown. The event marked first public appearance since announcing his ALS diagnosis in April 2025, and it was also his final red carpet appearance.
Despite Eric‘s relationship with Janell, he actually never got divorced from wife Rebecca Gayheart after their split in 2018. They called off their divorce after his ALS diagnosis and chose to remain a family, even though they were no longer a couple.
In his final interview, Eric said that he and Rebecca still “deeply” loved each other.
