It sounds like Ralph Fiennes time in the Harry Potter universe is over.

While appearing on The Claudia Winkleman Show on Friday night (April 10), the 63-year-old Oscar-nominated was asked about possibly reprising the role of Lord Voldemort in HBO’s upcoming TV series adaption of the beloved books.

“I remember being asked the question once we’d shot the total film series, would I reprise the part, and this was some years ago,” Ralph recalled. “I said, ‘Yes, I’d love to.’”

Ralph went on to say that he believes that Tilda Swinton would be perfect to play Voldemort in the TV series.

“But I’ll tell you, Tilda Swinton was mentioned somewhere as being a contender, and I think she would be amazing,” Ralph said.

Tilda‘s name has indeed been tossed around to possibly play Voldemort in the upcoming series, which is set to premiere later this year.

Cillian Murphy has also been rumored to play Voldemort in the series and in a recent interview, he responded to the speculation.

The first season of the Harry Potter series, which will follow the events of the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, premieres on HBO on Christmas Day. Watch the trailer here!
