SZA is shutting down rumors that she’s going to perform up at Coachella 2026.

The 36-year-old singer is responding to a rumor that has started circulating online claiming she was paid to be a fill-in performer if Justin Bieber dropped out.

Justin is one of this year’s headliners alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G. The “Sorry” singer is expected to perform on April 11 and April 18.

“Lmao who made this up ? I’ve seen this 4 times now,” the “Kill Bill” singer commented in response to a post making the claim.

The Instagram post in question was shared between Music Life and Blind Items and said, “SZA Allegedly Paid Six Figures to Stay Coachella-Ready in Case Justin Bieber Dropoff.”

“I’m in New York no one paid me a dime . Wishing everyone the best ❤️” she added in her comment.

It’s also worth noting that SZA and Justin previously collaborated on her song “Snooze,” so it’s possible she could be a special guest on his set rather than any kind of “back up.” But given that she says she’s in New York, that also seems unlikely.

“did yall forget bieber is in one of her videos / songs… she might pop up on his set atp,” one person pointed out further down in the comments section.
