Alec Baldwin is considering retiring from Hollywood.
The 68-year-old actor recently revealed that it’s something he has been thinking about since the 2021 accidental death of Halyna Hutchins during the production of Rust.
“I wound up staying home a lot. I was home with my kids for three and a half years — I hardly worked at all,” he shared during Monday’s episode of The Hollywood Reporter Awards Chatter podcast.

“I don’t want to leave my house anymore,” the 30 Rock alum continued. “I don’t. I don’t want to work anymore. I don’t. I really don’t. I want to retire and stay home with my kids.”
In October 2021, Halyna was shot and killed on set after a prop gun Alec was holding went off. He was later charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded not guilty. The case was later dismissed in July 2024.
On the podcast, he said, “That was unspeakably difficult to deal with.”
Alec also talked about how they had to finish filming Rust “as a component of the settlement with her husband.”
“It impacted me in every way — financially, career-wise, my wife, my kids, my health. I was so sick. I mean, we had to finish. We gave him the movie and said, ‘You sell it and do whatever you want with it,’” he recalled.
Earlier this month, Olivia Munn claimed Alec got her fired from 30 Rock.
