Christopher Meloni is breaking his silence following news that Law & Order: Organized Crime has been canceled.

On Thursday (April 16), Peacock announced their decision to cancel the series after five seasons. The show aired its first four seasons on NBC before moving to the streaming service for its fifth season, which wrapped up in June of 2025.

Christopher, who played Det. Elliot Stabler on Organized Crime, then took to Instagram to react to the news.

Keep reading to find out more…“I just saw that they announced ‘Organized Crime’ won’t be coming back,” Christopher, 65, shared in a video. “I wanted to take this moment to say thank you to the fans who not only helped give the character of Elliot Stabler life and longevity, but for sticking with him and welcoming him back.”

“It was a good ride,” he continued. “I had a great time playing him. It was a great ride. Thank you. You helped give me a career that I never dreamed of, nearly 17 odd years.”

Christopher originated the role of Stabler on Law & Order: SVU, which was just renewed for season 28. while he may occasionally continue to pop up on SVU for guest appearances, the Organized Crime cancellation means he will no longer play Stabler full-time.

If you didn’t see, Christopher already has a new role lined up: he’s going to be starring in Hulu’s new NFL dram series The Land.
