There will be one less celebrity cameo when you go see The Devil Wears Prada 2 in theaters…Sydney Sweeney‘s role was apparently cut.
If you don’t recall, the 28-year-old Euphoria star was photographed on the set of the movie last summer, and fans quickly figured out she was likely filming a cameo for the highly-anticipated sequel.

A source explained to EW that Sydney‘s cameo would have happened towards the top of the film, but was ultimately cut out in a “creative decision.”
Sydney played herself in the brief appearance, being dressed by Emily Blunt‘s character for a three-minute long scene.
EW added that the scene “did not work structurally with the rest of the sequence, and that the team working on the movie was grateful for her participation, making the decision to remove the bit a difficult one.”
It is not uncommon for celebrity cameos to be cut from movies once the editing process begins.
Last year alone, we noted that Lola Tung and Nicholas Alexander Chavez were both cut from the I Know What You Did Last Summer movie, and Simone Ashley (who happens to be in The Devil Wears Prada 2) was cut from the F1 movie.
