A White House official responded to Jimmy Kimmel‘s new monologue on Monday night (April 27) defending his joke about Melania Trump.
If you don’t know, the Trumps called for Jimmy to be fired for the following joke, which he made before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting: “Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.”

White House communications director Steven Cheung, on his official X account, wrote on Tuesday (April 28), “Jimmy Kimmel is a sh-t human being for: #1. Making a disgusting joke about assassinating the President #2. Doubling down on that joke instead of doing the decent thing by apologizing ABC needs to fire him immediately and he should be shunned for the rest of his life.”
Page Six has allegedly spoken to a source over at ABC, and there are apparently no plans to fire the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host.
A source told them they “don’t plan to suspend him, fire him or cancel the show….It’s back to taping per usual. They’re moving on.”
