Megan Thee Stallion is preparing for a new era.
The rapper sparked buzz on social media on Tuesday (June 2) after sharing a yacht-side video teasing unreleased music that seems to be referencing her recent breakup from NBA star Klay Thompson.
In the clip, Megan can be seen driving a boat, dancing, and taking shots of her Chicas Divertidas tequila while previewing new lyrics.
“All that wifey s–t is dead / Put that s–t to bed,” she raps in the snippet, immediately sending fans into speculation mode about the meaning behind the line.
Megan does not directly mention Klay by name, but the teaser arrived just weeks after she publicly confirmed the end of their relationship.
In April, the Grammy-winning artist shared a statement confirming her split from Klay, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
She also accused him of cheating on her.
The lyrics have already generated strong reactions online, with fans interpreting the song as a post-breakup anthem and the unofficial kickoff to another “Hot Girl Summer.”
The comments section quickly filled with support from fellow artists.
Cardi B joked, “Let me drive the boat,” while rapper Monaleo celebrated the preview by writing, “SHE BACK!!!!!!!” Megan responded with three pink heart emojis.
