Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion is officially getting a sequel and it is now in production!
The second film in the franchise will actually not be getting a theatrical release, and will instead stream on Hulu.
The original movie, which was released in 1997, acquired quite a cult following over the years, and many hoped a sequel could come to fruition.
Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion followed two carefree party girls who reinvent themselves for their 10-year high school reunion. With new wardrobes and wild stories of success, they make a big impression … until a former classmate blabs their real story to everyone.
Tim Federle is set to direct the movie. He is best known for directing the Disney+ movie Better Nate Than Never and for creating the streamer’s hit show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
We now know who from the original cast will be returning from the first film.
