Paris Hilton is speaking out after Utah revoked the license of Provo Canyon School’s Springville Campus, a teen behavioral center she previously attended and has publicly criticized for years.
The 45-year-old entrepreneur and advocate reacted to the news on Tuesday (July 7), after ABC4 News reported that the Utah Department of Health and Human Services had revoked the campus’ license.
The department said the school had “failed to provide applicable health and safety services for clients,” with the action taking effect on Monday, according to AP News.

Paris Hilton reacts to the news
Paris quoted the ABC4 News’ report post and wrote, “I’ve been waiting years to write this. The place that hurt me, and countless children before and after me, will no longer be allowed to operate. The children inside are going to be removed. The dream I’ve had to protect future generations from the abuse I endured is finally happening #ShutDownPCS #Survivor.”
She also addressed the decision in a statement provided to AP, linked above.
For more than fifty years, children came forward with stories of abuse, neglect, and trauma. Today, the state confirmed what survivors have known all along: Provo Canyon School failed the children in its care.
I was one of those children. I know what it feels like to cry for help and believe no one is coming. Today, children still inside that facility know someone is finally coming to protect them.

Why the school’s license was revoked
According to AP, Utah’s action cited multiple noncompliance issues dating back to 2025, including failures related to staff-to-client ratios, background checks, client care, and an incident involving unnecessary restraints and aggressive physical contact with a client.
State officials had also imposed temporary restrictions in May after saying staff did not seek immediate medical care for a student with serious injuries.
The school has 15 days to request a hearing before the Department of Health and Human Services. AP also reported that Provo Canyon School has been ordered to cease all operations by August 6.

Paris Hilton’s history with Provo Canyon School
Paris has been one of the most visible critics of Provo Canyon School and the wider “troubled teen industry.” She has said she was abused while attending the school as a teenager and has since testified before Congress and state legislatures while advocating for protections for children in residential treatment facilities.
In 2022, Paris also spoke about being sexually assaulted while attending the school, saying, “My childhood was stolen from me.”
