Savannah Guthrie has not been on Today for two days now.
The 54-year-old co-anchor did not appear on Wednesday (July 8) or Thursday (July 9), with Laura Jarrett filing in alongside Craig Melvin instead.
Unlike the other times that she didn’t appear this summer, during which they announced that Savannah was away on assignment and/or working on her upcoming Wordle game show on NBC, there was no reason given for her absences this week.
Savannah returned to the show in April following two months away as the search continues for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was reported missing in Arizona. She was last seen on January 31.
More recently, it was reported that the FBI determined that none of the ransom notes were real.
However, the FBI then released a new statement in response to this report.
Savannah recently spoke out on the show begging for more information: “I wanted to just take the opportunity to ask people, really to beg people, to come forward. Somebody knows something,” she said.
“This is a new story that today is on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day. And we are in agony and we cannot be at peace.” If you are not aware, Savannah has a sister and a brother named Annie and Camron.
The FBI is also offering a $100,000 reward and encouraging anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
