Levi Banks is speaking out as the new season of Big Brother premieres.
Shortly before the CBS premiere, Levi took to Instagram to share a video explanation of why he dropped out of the competition at the last minute.
Levi was initially supposed to enter the BB house, but as he explains, decided to pull himself out of the show just before move-in day.
“What is up, Big Brother fans?” he said as he opened the video. “My name is Levi Banks and I just wanted to give you all a quick update and to let you know that I am doing great.”
He continued, “I was all set and ready to move into the Big Brother house this season, and as we got closer and closer and closer to the move-in day, I just kinda realized that this was not the right fit for me, personally and I kinda wanted to let you know that was probably the hardest decision of my entire life.”
“I am back home in North Carolina right now,” Levi went on. “And I am on good terms with CBS, Big Brother, and everyone, and I just wanted to let them know and you all know that I am so, so, so thankful for this opportunity. It has been very life-changing.”
While he’s not competing on the season, he adds that he is “so freakin’ excited” to watch.
At the end, he said, “Let’s go Yash!” which is seemingly in reference to BB28 competitor Yash Patel, who has been rumored to be Levi‘s replacement.
A CBS spokesperson also confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Levi chose to leave the show, but did not confirm if Yash was his replacement.
