Disney and Champion are joining forces with the NFL and Fanatics for a new apparel collection that combines football teams with characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars.
The Disney | Champion NFL Collection will eventually represent all 32 NFL teams. It made its debut at Fanatics Fest NYC on July 16 through an event called the Disney Fan Draft, which revealed the first eight team-and-character combinations.
The initial lineup includes some natural matches, like the Dallas Cowboys with Woody, along with some unexpected selections that incorporate team history and fan culture.
Which NFL teams and Disney characters have been paired together?
Disney has announced the following first-round selections.
- Buffalo Bills – Beast from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
- Dallas Cowboys – Woody from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story
- Las Vegas Raiders – Darth Vader from Star Wars
- New England Patriots – Captain America from Marvel
- New York Giants – Wreck-It Ralph
- New York Jets – Buzz Lightyear from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Captain Hook from Disney’s Peter Pan
- Washington Commanders – Hamm from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story
The other 24 team-and-character pairings have not been revealed yet. Disney says the remaining selections will be announced in August.
What merchandise is included in the Disney | Champion NFL Collection?
The collection includes T-shirts, crewnecks, and sweatshirts combining NFL branding with Disney-owned characters. The first eight teams received an early merchandise release at the Disney | Champion Fan Zone during Fanatics Fest NYC.
The Fan Zone also incorporated photo opportunities and appearances by Disney characters connected to the launch.
When and where can fans purchase the full collection?
The complete Disney | Champion NFL Collection is scheduled to launch in August. Once released, merchandise for all 32 teams is expected to be sold through Fanatics.com, NFLShop.com, and DisneyStore.com, along with select Lids stores across the United States.
Fans can also select their favorite team through an official NFL Shop signup page to receive updates about new merchandise and related releases.
