One guest at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding thought Adam Sandler officiating the ceremony was a joke.
CEO of American Century Investments, Jonathan Thomas, visited The Compound and Friends podcast for the Friday (July 17) episode and reflected on the epic Madison Square Garden wedding that took place earlier this month.
According to Jonathan, when the Billy Madison star came out to officiate, “everybody laughed and thought it was a joke at first.”
“But he actually did [it], he probably spoke for 20 or 30 minutes,” Jonathan revealed. “Vacillated between funny, very sincere. Sang a few things.”
Talking about the main theme of Adam‘s speech, the CEO said, “One is, you know, in your typical vows, the officiator says for rich or for poor. Adam said, ‘You know, you’re not going to have to worry about that.’ And then the second thing is, his key message was kiss each other. Every day, in the morning, at night, after dinner, just kiss often.”
Jonathan also shared his thoughts on the couple’s vows, saying they both wrote their own and took about 30 minutes to speak each. Taylor‘s words were called “poetic” and he said he cried during Travis‘ vows.
He concluded by saying the wedding was “so designed to delight the guests and make sure they have a lot of fun.”
“It was all about the guests, and they went over the top to make sure everybody had a great time,” Jonathan said.
