Morgan Wallen‘s new song “Been By Now” is officially streaming after he debuted it during a recent live show.
The 33-year-old country singer debuted the song during his recent Baltimore show at M&T Bank Stadium while on the road for his Still the Problem Tour.
“Been By Now” is Morgan‘s first new solo song of 2026 and it has been released as he prepares to close out the tour. The final show is scheduled for August 1.
Morgan Wallen’s lyrics for “Been By Now”
Morgan sings in the bridge:
Nah, we don’t even fight like we used to
We don’t even care enough to cry no more
It’s been a hundred nights since I knew you
How long we gonna keep looking at that door
In the chorus, he sings:
If it was meant to be, we’d have been by now
We wouldn’t have to keep tryna work things out
Yeah baby, we’re a breeze when the lights go down
It wouldn’t be so hard when we ain’t in the dark
If we were in the stars, they’d align right up
Yeah baby, from the start we’ve been trying too much
I know you want to think that it’s what we found
But if it was meant to be, we’d have been by now
Been by now
The song appears to be about accepting a breakup after it has happened, acknowledging that if they were going to be together, it would have happened “by now.”
While performing the song for the first time, Morgan told the crowd, “I just had a few weeks off tour, so y’all know me, I can’t help but work a little bit. I’ve been in the studio working on my…whatever’s next. I don’t exactly know what’s gonna be next yet. But I do know that this song I’m about to play right now is gonna be my very next single and it comes out on July 24th.”
