A photo from the set of Grey’s Anatomy season 23 has left fans wondering if Ellen Pompeo will be featured in the upcoming episodes.
14 members of the show’s cast and crew gathered for a group picture, which was shared on the official Instagram account for the ABC TV show.
“Season 23,” the photo was captioned along with a blue heart.
Among the actors featured in the photo were Chandra Wilson, Debbie Allen, James Pickens Jr., Camilla Luddington, Chris Carmack, Caterina Scorsone, Trevor Jackson, Adelaide Kane, Niko Terho, Alexis Floyd, Harry Shum Jr., Anthony Hill, and more.
Jen Landon, who joined the cast in a recurring role in season 22 as Dr Toni Wright, was also pictured, confirming she’ll be coming back as well.
Most of the comments on the post have questioned why Ellen, who plays title character Meredith Grey, is not in the photo.
Ellen was a series regular for the first 18 seasons of the long-running medical drama, but she took a step back from the show starting in season 19. She remains as the narrator and makes occasional appearances throughout each season.
Two beloved cast members are confirmed to not be returning this year.
