The first song on Ariana Grande‘s brand new album Petal is the track “Kiss Me,” which seems to be her plea for one final moment of connection before breaking up.
On the track, Ariana seems to be aware that her relationship is going to attend, but she wants something to hold onto when the time comes to say goodbye. It also sounds like desperation, hoping that if her partner shows her some love, perhaps they actually will stay together.
“Kiss me like you know this is goodbye / We could try to make it all the way out / Grab me like my life is on the line / We decide to make it all the way out / My heart in your hands despite all of my plans / We could try to make it, make it all count,” Ariana sings on the chorus.
Ariana just dropped 12 songs on her new album Petal, including the title track “Petal” and the lead single “Hate That I Made You Love Me.”
Because her breakup with ex-boyfriend Ethan Slater was fairly recent, it’s unclear if these songs are actually about him or not.
