Who is Jean Grey?
According to Marvel, Jean Grey is “an extraordinary telepath and telekinetic” and a founding member of the X-Men. Professor Charles Xavier discovers her immense potential at a young age, training her to become an omega-level mutant.
She’s perhaps best known for her connection to the Phoenix Force, a cosmic entity that makes her one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe.
Has Jean Grey appeared in the Marvel movies before?
Jean Grey was previously portrayed by Famke Janssen in Fox’s original X-Men movies and by Sophie Turner in the prequel films, making Sadie Sink the first actress to play the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What does this mean for the MCU?
Introducing Jean Grey is a major milestone for the MCU, as she’s one of Marvel’s most important mutant characters and a founding member of the X-Men.
