
John Nolan has sadly passed away.
The British actor died on Saturday morning (April 11). He was 87-years-old. John was the paternal uncle of brothers Christopher and Jonathan Nolan.
John‘s wife Kim Hartman paid tribute to the actor, describing him to the Stratford-upon-Avon Herald as “a free spirit, who always knew what he wanted and acted on his own terms; the only truly original thinker I think I ever knew. Articulate, intelligent and with an anarchic wit, he was always willing to see both sides of an argument.”

John trained at the Drama Centre before landing the male lead in Romeo & Juliet at Richmond Theatre. He went on join the Royal Court Company and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He made his onscreen debut in a 1967 episode of The Prisoner.
John played Wayne Enterprises board member Douglas Fredericks in 2005′s Batman Begins and 2012′s The Dark Knight Rises, which his nephew Christopher directed. He also appeared in Christopher’s 2017 movie Dunkirk.
He also had a recurring role in nephew Jonathan‘s television series Person of Interest.
John is survived by Kim and their two children.
