Kirsten Storms Shares Health Update on Brain Aneurysm, Teases ‘General Hospital’ Return | General Hospital, Kirsten Storms | Celebrity News and Gossip | Entertainment, Photos and Videos

Kirsten Storms is sharing a major health update amid her General Hospital hiatus.

Over the summer, the 41-year-old actress, who has been playing Maxie Jones on the long-running ABC soap opera since 2005, announced that she was briefly stepping away from the show as she and her daughter relocated to Nashville.

However, in October, Kirsten revealed that she need to undergo brain surgery after an aneurysm was discovered.

In a new Instagram post shared on Monday night (December 22), Kirsten provided fans with an update on her health and teased her return to General Hospital.

Keep reading to find out more…“Seasons Greetings, my insta-friends!❤️” Kirsten began. “I hope everyone is enjoying the winter break with their family and loved ones. Although the cold weather has been met with a lot of complaining from me (to anyone around me), I’m kinda LOVING it. And I definitely freaked out at the sight of some *very small* snow flurries…that melted as soon as they touched…anything. Couldn’t get the smile off my face in that moment if I tried. 😁 (Don’t judge, I was born in Florida and moved to California).”

She then went on to discuss her health.

“OKAY… I’ve received a lot of social media support on this subject, so I want to give an update on my medical situation. My last appointment was with a new Neurosurgeon in St Louis,” Kirsten shared. “He told me that I am in the ‘gray zone’ for the aneurysm procedure. It’s not super small, but it’s not at the mandatory surgery size. Basically, I can keep monitoring it – or have the coiling done, BUT he told me I wasn’t in immediate/’OMG! it’s going to burst tomorrow!’ kind of danger. Obvi, great news. 💁🏼‍♀️”

She continued, “Trying to see if I’m comfortable with the ‘wait and see if it gets worse’ plan. I do know that I am not eager to hop right on the operating table. (Plz refer to my post in 2021, following my craniotomy. The pic of the back of my head will *possibly* convey why this topic is a little difficult for me to openly discuss. And of course there was that surgery back in Jan this year 🙅🏼‍♀️).

“So, as I sit in this ‘gray zone’, pondering my plan, I want you guys to know that I really do appreciate the messages and stories offered of your own experiences,” Kirsten wrote. “I needed those….and I had no idea (weird how that works, right?). Super easy to be silly and have fun on these platforms, but getting deep about online rumors and my feelings about them? Hah….i’d rather switch to decaf coffee. (My psychologist would tell me that’s a clear example of ‘avoidance’.)”

“Welp I’m out of jokes, so I’m gonna say 🎄HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🎄” she concluded, “and maaaaybe you will be seeing me back in Port Charles soon. ✨”

If you missed it, another General Hospital star recently opened up being diagnosed with bipolar disorder after being hospitalized for a “manic psychotic episode.”
