A rep for Martin Short has confirmed the tragic passing of his daughter Katherine.
Earlier today, it was reported that the 42-year-old was found deceased on Monday (February 23) at her home in Los Angeles. TMZ is reporting that it was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but this has not been confirmed by the Short family at this time.

“It is with profound grief that we confirm the passing of Katherine Hartley Short. The Short family is devastated by this loss, and asks for privacy at this time. Katherine was beloved by all and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world,” a rep provided in a statement to Just Jared.
She was adopted by Martin and his late wife Nancy, who died in 2010. She is survived by Martin, as well as her younger brothers, Henry and Oliver.
