Pam Bondi is not going to testify about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
The 60-year-old former U.S. Attorney General, who was ousted by President Donald Trump last week, won’t be testifying about the late convicted sex offender’s investigation in front of a congressional committee.
The reason is because she’s no longer the Attorney General, according to the Department of Justice.
The department told the House Oversight Committee that she will not appear at the deposition on Tuesday (April 14) as she was “subpoenaed in her capacity as Attorney General,” a committee spokesperson told BBC.
According to the report, some members will try to push for her to answer questions at a “later date.”
Republican U.S. Representative Nancy Mace said on X: “Pam Bondi cannot escape accountability simply because she no longer holds the office of Attorney General. Our motion to subpoena Pam Bondi, which was passed by the Oversight Committee, was for Bondi by name, not by title. She will still have to appear before the Oversight Committee for a sworn deposition. The American people deserve answers, and we expect her to appear as soon as a new date is set.”
Democrat Robert Garcia added: “She must come in to testify immediately, and if she defies the subpoena, we will begin contempt charges.”
Earlier in 2026, Pam Bondi was subpoenaed to answer questions regarding the Department of Justice’s investigation into Epstein.
She sent a letter claiming all of the Epstein Files were released in February.
