Russell was previously charged with two counts of rape, one count of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault, and pled not guilty.

He is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 20, 2026 regarding the two additional charges, Sky News is reporting.

His trial related to the five original charges will take place on June 16, 2026.

Detectives started investigating him around two years ago after the Channel 4 and Sunday Times investigation, per Deadline.

The BBC, Channel 4 and Big Brother producer Banijay all led internal probes after the investigation, leading to apologies and more revelations. The BBC discovered he allegedly “joked about” exposing himself to a woman in a bathroom. Channel 4 found “two new worrying allegations.”

In 2023, he was also accused in a lawsuit of sexually assaulting an extra on the set of the 2011′s Arthur.

“The women who have made reports, including those connected to the two new charges, continue to receive support from specially trained officers. The Met’s investigation remains ongoing, and detectives urge anyone affected by this case, or anyone with information, to come forward and speak with police. Support is also available through the independent charity Rape Crisis by contacting the 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line,” Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi from the Metropolitan Police said to Sky News in a statement.

The original charges allege that he “raped a woman in Bournemouth in 1999, indecently assaulted a woman in 2001 in Westminster, London, orally raped and sexually assaulted a woman in Westminster in 2004, and between 2004 and 2005 sexually assaulted a woman, also in Westminster,” per Deadline.
