CBS is reducing the episode counts for several of its shows in the upcoming season.

With its Friday night schedule stacked and ranking at No. 1 for 16 straight seasons, the network wants to maintain that success by beefing up its schedule with more shows, meaning some are getting shorter seasons to make room.

Fire Country, NCIS: Sydney, NCIS: Origins, and Matlock are the series that will be impacted, reports Deadline.

Fire Country will leave the lineup early for its fifth season, getting cut down to 13 episodes, down from its previously 20 for season 4.

Origins will have a reduced season 3 order and be replaced in its 10 pm slot by NCIS: Sydney midseason. According to sources, both Sydney and Origins will only have 10 episodes next season, which is down from 18 and 20, respectively.

Matlock, which is moving into its third season, will have 13 episodes and is reportedly being held for midseason.

CBS is adding new dramas Cupertino, Einstein, and NCIS spinoff New York starring LL Cool J and Scott Caan, plus new comedy Eternally Yours. New York and Cupertino are expecting to get full 20-episode seasons, while Einstein will have 13.

NBC just canceled two of its shows, find out which ones right here.
