Post Malone has canceled the first few weeks of his upcoming Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 with Jelly Roll.
The 30-year-old Grammy nominee posted a statement to his Instagram Story late Friday night (May 1) to share that he wants to finish his upcoming album first before he goes on the road.
“Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach,” he wrote in his post, “I came to the realization that what we’re trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up. The truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”
The “Circles” singer continued, “That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all. That THAT being said, we been making some bad–s s–t for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”
This decision will impact the first six scheduled dates, per Variety. The tour would have kicked off on May 13 at El Paso’s Sun Bowl Stadium. The June 5 date in Oxford, Miss. has also been canceled, as have dates taking place in Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, and Tampa.
Three festival dates have also been canceled. The tour will now start on June 9 in Charlotte, N.C.
His planned next album will supposedly feature 50 tracks and be called The Eternal Buzz, but there are no other details available yet.
Zayn Malik recently announced that he was canceling all of the U.S. dates for his upcoming arena tour amid health issues. More details here.
Meghan Trainor also canceled her planned arena tour.
