Lincoln Center Theater’s new production of Whoopi Goldberg‘s classic play The Whoopi Monologues is now open!

Kerry Washington looked stunning in a gold dress while stepping out for the opening performance of the play on Monday night (July 13) in New York City.

Kerry stars in the play alongside Danielle Pinnock, Dominique Fishback, and Tony winners Kara Young and Kecia Lewis in this reimagining of Whoopi‘s one-woman play.

What is The Whoopi Monologues about?

In 1984, then unknown monologist Whoopi Goldberg premiered her provocative, thought-provoking one-woman show on Broadway, torching the rulebook of traditional solo performance in one of the most electrifying debuts of the era. Now, the trailblazing work returns— reimagined for a new generation. Dominique Fishback, Kecia Lewis, Danielle Pinnock, Kerry Washington, and Kara Young come together to bring Goldberg’s unforgettable characters back to the stage, in this new production directed by Tony® Award nominee Whitney White. Funny, vivid, and deeply human, these nuanced portraits feel as fresh and irresistible today as they were over 40 years ago.
