Joey King and Maisie Williams are opening up about working with legends Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman and how they taught some slang to their co-stars while filming Practical Magic 2.
Last weekend, Joey and Maisie appeared together at the 2026 Teen Vogue Fest in New York City and chatted with Vogue‘s Chloe Malle about making the new movie.
Joey and Maisie play Sally Owens’ grown daughters, Kylie and Antonia, who begin discovering their family’s magical legacy nearly 30 years after the events of the original film.
While filming, Joey and Maisie would joke about the wig Maisie had to wear by using the Gen Z term “wig,” which is used to show you are excited or impressed by something.
“We were saying ‘wig’ a lot. And then Nicole was like, ‘What’s wig?’ And we were like, ‘It means work it, girl,’” Maisie said (via People). “And so she was like, ‘Ah, wig.’”
Joey added that Sandra caught on too. “After a great take, they’d be like, ‘Wig?’ And we’d be like, ‘Wig. Oh my gosh,’” she said.
Sandra taught the girls something she learned from her kids.
Maisie revealed, “Sandra keeps teaching us about what the kids are listening to now. She taught us ‘67.’ And she also taught us about Clavicular. He’s a looksmaxxer.”
