Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is arriving sooner than expected.
Paramount has announced that the new animated movie, which continues the story from Avatar: The Last Airbender, will now debut globally on Paramount+ on July 25.
The film had previously been set for an October 9 theatrical release before shifting to a streaming rollout. The earlier premiere date also comes after the entire movie leaked online in April.
First trailer reveals Aang’s new quest
Along with the new release date, Paramount debuted the first trailer and first-look images from the film.
The movie follows Aang after the events of the original animated series as he continues to struggle with being the world’s last airbender. In the trailer, he discovers Tagah, an ancient airbender who may be able to help him revive their culture.
The official logline for the film reads, “Avatar Aang, the world’s last Airbender, learns of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. With the help of his friends, he embarks on a global quest to find it before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens to upend the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve.”

Who is in the voice cast?
The film features Eric Nam as Aang, Dave Bautista as Tagah, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Steven Yeun as Zuko, and Dionne Quan as Toph.
The project is based on the beloved animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.
Fans will also get more from the Avatar universe very soon, as Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is set to be featured at San Diego Comic-Con in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series recently aired its second season. The show has already been renewed for season 3, which will also be its final season.
