The countdown to the release of the new Avengers movie is on!
The upcoming latest installment in the Marcel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Doomsday, will be released in theaters later this year on December 16, and starting next week, tickets will be going on sale.
Domestic tickets for Doomsday will go on sale on Monday, July 20, The Hollywood Reporter has announced. The new movie will not be shown in IMAX theaters as Warner Bros. has locked down those theaters for two weeks exclusively for Dune: Part III, as both movies will be released on the same day.
Instead, Disney has announced Infinity Vision, a new certification for premium large format (PLF) theaters.
Infinity Vision “sets a new benchmark for theatrical presentation, certifying auditoriums that meet rigorous technical standards, including a focus on: the largest screens for maximum scale; laser projection for superior brightness and clarity; premium audio formats for fully immersive sound.”

Along with the early ticket sale plan, it has also been revealed that the runtime for Doomsday is 165 minutes (two hours and 45 minutes). Since it’s unlikely that the movie’s final cut is locked in this far in advance, selling tickets on a set schedule means the movie’s runtime can only be changed by a small margin.
At 165 minutes, Doomsday would be longer than 2018’s Infinity War (149 minutes), but shorter than 2019’s Endgame (181 minutes).
Marvel will also be re-releasing Avengers: Endgame in Infinity Vision on September 25, just under three months before Doomsday hits theaters.
Avengers: Doomsday will see nearly 30 Marvel stars come together for an epic film event that fans will not want to miss!
