Caleb Hearon is addressing the anti-ICE pin he wore at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on Monday (April 20) in New York City.
The 31-year-old comedian, actor and host of So True With Caleb Hearon stars in the upcoming sequel, and was asked on the red carpet about the pin he was wearing, denouncing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“Oh my god, someone put that on me. I did not – no, I’m just kidding,” he began, jokingly.

“I think in a country where people can’t afford groceries and the rent continues to go up and no one can afford to buy a single-family home and rural hospitals continue to close and infrastructure is crumbling, I could go on for days and days and days. But the fact that we’re paying these people to terrorize our communities, it makes me absolutely sick. And I’m thinking about it all the time,” Caleb explained.
“I saw a lot of people wearing these in January and February. You’re probably going to be the only person I see wearing this now. What has kept you engaged with the cause, with the movement?” Caleb was then asked by the USA Today reporter.
“They’ve continued to be engaged in destroying our communities. And so I’m still thinking about it. No shade to anyone who’s not wearing one. It’s like we all do different types of work in different ways. And I don’t think that wearing a pin is work. But I thought of it. And I thought tonight would be a lovely time to show my support for the communities that are being affected.”
Stars including Ava Phillippe, Odessa A’zion, Billy Eichner, Mandy Moore and Chrishell Stause all “liked” the video which was also shared on the NowThis Impact page.
Protestors of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in communities are calling for defunding of the program amid several ICE-related deaths, including Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
As of March, 23 people have died in ICE custody, and nearly 70,000 people are in ICE detention, via NPR.
The American Immigration Council reports that “for every one ICE ‘at-large’ arrest in December through January that involved someone with a prior criminal conviction classified as the most serious threat risk, there were 12 arrests of people with no criminal record at all.”
Many big Hollywood stars are publicly calling for the closure of the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Texas.
