Cate Blanchett was spotted giving someone the bird!
The 56-year-old Oscar winner attended the 2026 Olivier Awards in London on Sunday (April 12), and while there she gave the middle finger to someone off-screen, as seen in this video.
In the footage, Cate is seen looking toward a person just off to the side, out of view of the camera, and saying, “Stop it.” Then a few moments later, she sticks up her middle finger and makes the gesture in their direction.

It’s unclear what exactly transpired or what they were doing to provoke her response. It seems likely that it was a reporter or photographer but there hasn’t been any confirmation.
Cate was at the ceremony as a best actress nominee for her work in Chekhov’s The Seagull in London.
She was wearing a Lanvin dress with Louis Vuitton earrings and Saint Laurent shoes to the red carpet event.
Last month, Zendaya borrowed an outfit from Cate to promote her movie The Drama, making it the “something borrowed” item of her wardrobe. It was the same stunning black Armani Privé gown that the Carol star wore to the opening night ceremony of the 2025 Venice Film Festival.
Cate was also one of many stars to sign an anti-AI campaign earlier this year.
