Ciara is singing her praises for husband Russell Wilson after his big announcement.
On Wednesday (June 3), the 37-year-old quarterback officially announced that he was retiring from the NFL after a 14-year career.
Russell shared the news in an video on Instagram that included a video montage from his football career along with photos and videos of his family. As he narrated the clip, he spoke of his journey with the sport and expressed gratitude for his time in the NFL.
The announcement was shared in a joint point with Ciara, 40, and in the comments section, she gushed over her husband.
“The best in the world!” Ciara wrote in the comments. “There’s only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!”
Russell was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks back in 2012. Two years later, he led the franchise to it’s first-ever Super Bowl win in February 2014. While he remained with the Seahawks until 2021, Russell also had stints on the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants before retiring.
