Matteo Lane is heading to Broadway!

The 39-year-old stand-up comedian and actor has been announced as the next Billy Flynn in the long-running musical Chicago, according to People.

Matteo is set to take over the role from Nik Walker, who is currently playing Billy, following Mark Ballas‘ limited stint.

He will star alongside Krysta Rodriguez, who will assume the role of Roxie Hart from Rachel Schur starting June 15th.

Matteo is scheduled to play Billy Flynn from June 22nd to July 19th.

“Hello Broadway,” Matteo wrote on his Instagram story along with his casting news.

While Matteo is most well known for his stand-up comedy, he also displays his singing voice during sets, and he’s appeared in several movies and TV shows. You may have seen him in an episode of Abbott Elementary or Survival of the Thickest. He also co-starred in the Prime Video movie Maintenance Required with Madelaine Petsch and Jacob Scipio, as well as an appearance the movie Upgraded, with Camila Mendes and Archie Madekwe, among other roles.

In addition, Matteo co-hosts the I Never Liked You podcast with friend Nick Smith.
