Donald Trump has officially pulled the plug on the planned Freedom 250 concert series in Washington, D.C.
The concerts, which were set to take place on the National Mall as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations, have been canceled and replaced with a political rally headlined by Trump himself.
The change comes after a number of previously announced performers withdrew from the event. According to reports, artists included Morris Day, Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Young MC, The Commodores, and Milli Vanilli all backed out. Some reportedly cited concerns that the concerts would not be nonpartisan as originally presented.
In a statement announcing the change on Truth Social, Trump promoted the replacement event as “the Greatest Rally, EVER!” and “a Rally to end all Rallies!”
Trump also confirmed that country singer Lee Greenwood will participate in the event, introducing him with his signature patriotic anthem “GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.”
The president additional announced performances from singer Christopher Macchio, the U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” the Armed Forces Choir, and “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band with the Joint Armed Forces Chorus.
At the time the concert were scrapped, Vanilla Ice was reportedly the only remaining artist still scheduled to perform.
The Freedom 250 concerts had originally been announced as part of festivities commemorating the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.
