Fashion icon Jen Kao celebrated her 45th birthday at the grand opening of Hollywood’s newest hotspot, Club Hun Bunz, on Saturday night (July 18), and it was serving peak tabloid-era glamour.

The invite-only celebration fully embraced early 2000s Los Angeles club culture, with Jen arriving in a white stretch Hummer limousine alongside friends, all dressed in true Y2K fashion.

Jen made her grand entrance in a flashy Paco Rabanne dress while partygoers fully committed to the night’s dress code in Von Dutch-inspired looks, low-rise silhouettes, couture-style bandage dresses, micro minis, towering heels, oversized sunglasses, and enough rhinestones to rival a 2000s red carpet.

The evening’s mysterious promoter was none other than Honey Kao-Leibsohn, Jen’s beloved pet pooch, who was credited on the invitation as the tastemaker behind Club Hun Bunz. Whether Honey actually arrived in the Hummer remains unconfirmed.

Celebrity baker Alana Jones Mann turned heads arriving with a jaw-dropping 3D Ed Hardy cake, equal parts dessert and Y2K art installation. Perfectly on theme!

Music throughout the evening was provided by Ana Calderon, Daisy O’Dell, and Marc Baker, while DJ Pretty Mess (Erika Jayne) and Avalon Lurks made headline appearances later in the night.

Among those celebrating with Jen were husband Adam Leibsohn, best friend Sarah Lai, cousins Eric and Eliz, as well as Jenya Flowers, Jacob Kim, Tsz Lo, Jess Fuselier, Nic Gonda, Rob Higa, Michael Forrey, Nicolette Profeta, Amanda Grogan, Ray Lai, Stephanie Lu, Denis Khomyshin, Maria Skouras, Michael Chang, AJ Joes, and the Tai Sisters.

The night’s real gatekeepers were the club’s brutally chic door girl and her trusty sidekick (IYKYK), who politely but firmly turned away anyone daring to approach without an invitation.

With Hummer limousines, Y2K fashion, celebrity DJs, a towering birthday cake, and plenty of nostalgic club energy, Club Hun Bunz made quite the first impression as Jen Kao celebrated her milestone birthday in unforgettable style. One might say she’s been sliving since 1981!
