The race for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is down to the final seven teams.
The quarterfinals kicked off on Thursday (July 9), with France defeating Morocco 2-0 in Foxborough, Mass. to seal their spot in the semifinals. Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the 60th minute before Ousmane Dembélé doubled their lead just six minutes afterward.
France will now face the winner of Friday’s (July 10) quarterfinal between Spain and Belgium in the semifinals. Two more quarterfinals remain on Saturday: Norway vs. England, and Argentina vs. Switzerland.
With seven teams still in contention and the tournament entering into its final stretch, prediction markets are updating championship odds. There is over $1.1 billion in betting volume on the Kalshi World Cup market.
