Fiona Apple is back with a brand new track for a TV show.
The elusive 48-year-old When the Pawn… singer-songwriter released “Horns of a Bull” via Epic Records this week, which is also featured in the title sequence of the new Anya Taylor-Joy-led Apple TV crime thriller miniseries, Lucky.
The first two episodes of the show are now available on the streamer.
“Horns of a Bull” was co-crafted by Fiona and her drummer Amy Aileen Wood.
“I pay attention to the men behind the curtain, I was born in the horns of a bull,” she declares on the quiveringly gritty track.
The song is available on Lucky (Apple Original Series Soundtrack) which is out now, composed by Isabella Summers, otherwise known as Isa Machine of Florence + the Machine.
“I wanted [the music] to be mostly female-centric and have kind of a rock edge to it, and what I’m absolutely thrilled about is that the legend, Fiona Apple, does our title sequences. When that became a possibility […] I was just screaming, my teenage self freaked out. I think her voice is a perfect description of this series. There’s a timbre and a rawness and, like, a gravelliness that perfectly exemplifies the show,” Anya recently explained.
Timothy Olyphant, who plays Anya‘s father, added: “When I saw the first episode, as soon as that title sequence broke in, I just remember this feeling of, ‘Oh, f–k yeah. This is going to be a great show.’ It just defined the whole show. This show must be awesome if Fiona Apple’s part of it.”
“Horns of a Bull” is Fiona‘s first release since the 2025 protest anthem “Pretrial (Let Her Go Home),” which addresses the effects of cash-bail system on women, girls, and especially Black mothers. Head to LetHerGoHome.org for more information.
