Ice-T has confirmed that he will be back for the full 28th season of Law & Order: SVU after having a reduced presence in the last season.
The 68-year-old rapper and actor has been playing Det. Odafin “Fin” Tutuola on the NBC series since season 2, but he wasn’t in all of season 27’s episodes.
Ice-T told TMZ, “Last year, what happened was they brought Kelli Giddish back. So they told me, basically, we’re going to bring Kelli Giddish back [and] we’re going to bring down your scenes a little bit.”
“This next season, I’m gonna be in every episode,” he added. “It was one of those things where the boss comes to you and you don’t go, ‘Well, I’ve been on here 27 seasons, you’re gonna do this.’ I was saying, ‘I got you, you know, I got it, it’s all good.’ So it wasn’t because of Kelli, it was just the way they moved.”
“After all these years, I’m not dying for screen time,” he said.
