Millie Bobby Brown is revealing what it was like the moment she found out she was going to be a mother through the adoption of her daughter.
On the latest episode of Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, she was asked about receiving that phone call alongside her husband Jake Bongiovi, 24, and the adoption process in general.
The 22-year-old Enola Holmes 3 star called the process “long” but “thorough.”
“The process is long and rightfully so; it’s a great process and, you know, in fact, it’s very thorough. I would say that’s probably the longest part, is just getting through all of that,” she shared.
“Getting the call, I mean, I will never forget it. It was the most surreal feeling and yet we both knew in that moment, like that was … that we had found each other. Like, oh my goodness, this is our girl, 100%, no doubt,” she recounted.
Jay then asked if she had recorded the conversation where they found out, to which she responded, “No, and I think there’s something so special about it because my whole life’s recorded. My husband and I will never forget those words, where we were, what we were doing, the feeling. And I think in so many ways, that is why that shouldn’t be recorded. It’s like almost like you had to be there.”
About adoption, she said, “We were talking to someone, another adoptive mother, and it’s like, there are two ways to have a baby, one through your stomach and one through your heart, and my girl was through my heart.”
While Millie and Jake have not confirmed the name they chose for their daughter, fans believe they figured it out through a big clue.
