From now, she will actually only serve two years in jail
An OnlyFans model has been sentenced to six years in prison, after she accepted a plea deal over the killing of her boyfriend.
Courtney Clenney pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her boyfriend, after he was stabbed and killed in their Miami home. She accepted the plea deal earlier this month, and her sentence will take into consideration time served over the last four years, as she has been behind bars since her arrest in 2022. That means she will only serve two more years in prison before being released.
Clenney told investigators her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, had pushed her to the ground and that she then threw a knife at him from about 10 feet away. The model claimed she had been acting in self defence.
According to reports, Obumseli was found with a single stab wound to the torso, and body camera footage showed Clenney covered in his blood. A medical examiner determined the knife wound to his chest was about three inches deep.
The couple had what was described as an “tempestuous and combative” relationship, and were on-and-off during their time together. Lawyers acting on behalf of Clenney claimed she had been subjected to domestic abuse, which Obumseli’s family has disputed.
Following his death, videos emerged of the couple. In one, Clenney was seen hitting Obumseli in an elevator, and in another, she was seen repeatedly slapping him. Prosectors had planned to use this footage in court, before the plea deal was accepted.
“No sentence, no plea, can bring back my son to me,” a family spokesperson said on behalf of Obumseli’s mother. “I have lived with fear, anxiety, sleepless nights, heartache and more tears than I can count. There was a joy in my life and my family’s life that has never completely returned.”
In a statement on Monday, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said: “This plea was reached in full consultation and approval of Christian’s family. The Assistant State Attorneys handling this case have remained focused on the core evidence that Clenney stabbed Christian Obumseli as part of a pattern of escalating violence toward him. While nothing can heal the wounds caused on that day in April, I hope today’s guilty plea brings his family a measure of justice too long denied.”
Courtney Clenney will serve her prison sentence, and then a further five years on probation. As she was sentenced, Clenney was pictured waving goodbye to family in the court.
