Ryan Gosling is officially joining the MCU!

The 45-year-old actor has been pitching to play Ghost Rider for several years, and his dream is finally coming true, as he was unveiled to star in an upcoming movie at 2026 San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday (July 25).

Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced the Ghost Rider movie during the studio’s panel in Hall H, and after the logo was revealed, the lights came on to show Ryan on stage!

It was also revealed that the Ghost Rider movie will be directed by Shawn Levy, reuniting him with Ryan.

The pair recently worked together on the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter movie!

Ghost Rider is set to hit theaters in 2028, while the Star Wars movie is slated for release on May 28, 2027.

“I’m having the greatest flashback vibes here, because I was here two years ago when we showed Deadpool & Wolverine,” Shawn Levy said on stage, via Variety. “I’ll never forget that night, because I was introduced to the greatest fans. Gosling is the absolute sh-t. I say that with tremendous respect. We spent a lot of time last year making Starfighter, and the opportunity as Ryan started talking about this character, I was like, ‘Bro let’s ride.’ We’ll see you in 2028!”

Ryan first revealed he was interested in playing Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze back in 2022, and earlier this year, he said “some discussions have been had.”

This will be the second time Ghost Rider has been on screen, after Nicolas Cage played the character in 2007, which also starred Ryan‘s partner Eva Mendes!
