More details are coming out following the shocking and sudden death of Sam Neill.
If you didn’t see the sad news, the Jurassic Park actor died at the age of 78 on Monday (July 13) in Sydney, Australia.
On Wednesday (July 15), Sam‘s cause of death was revealed, with his manager Philip Grenz telling TMZ that the actor died of pneumonia.
Back in April, Sam revealed that he was cancer-free after undergoing a special treatment. He was diagnosed with stage three blood cancer in March 2022. Prior to becoming sick with pneumonia, Sam‘s manager said that he had valiantly fought and beaten lymphoma through a new treatment called CAR-T therapy.
Following news of Sam‘s death, his ex girlfriend, journalist Laura Tingle, reflected on his final days, sharing that the cancer had really take a toll on his body.
Sam‘s manager also told TMZ that a private service for family and friends will be held at the actor’s New Zealand farm, noting that no public service or celebration of life will take place.
In lieu of flowers, Sam‘s family asks that donations can be made to one of the causes he cared about most deeply, including the Dunstan Hospital Foundation, The Snowdome Foundation or a NZ charity or fund that supports the sustainability, protection and preservation of New Zealand’s wildlife, native bush and land, such as the NZ Nature Fund and Sustainable Tarras.
