Spider-Man: Brand New Day is breaking box office records.
The Sony/Marvel movie, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, brought in a whopping $355 million at the domestic box office, just slightly under Avengers: Endgame‘s opening at $357.1 million, which remains the biggest opening weekend of all time in North America, per Deadline.
It’s now the second-highest domestic opening of all time.
Sony already broke their own record after 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home ($260.1 million).
Brand New Day notched several records, including an all-time high for a Thursday ($72 million), as well as a Friday ($168 million). It came in second place on Saturday with $101.5 million, via THR.
Spider-Man: No Way Home opened to $260.1 million domestically and $587.2 million worldwide at the end of 2021.
