A red carpet was rolled out at the VIP entrance at Madison Square Garden ahead of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding event, and then was ripped up minutes later.

TMZ reports that workers at the New York City arena put the red carpet on the stairs outside MSG’s VIP entrance on Tuesday morning (June 30), but then were informed they put the wrong color on the stairs.

Taylor and Travis are rumored to be getting married at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, with an intimate rehearsal dinner scheduled at the venue on Thursday night, July 2.

TMZ sources say that a purple carpet is going to be rolled out on the stairs instead.

Purple is the color associated with Taylor‘s album Speak Now. Travis‘ first time attending The Eras Tour was in Kansas City on the release weekend of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

Taylor‘s song “Lavender Haze” also fits the aura of the wedding.

Taylor previously said, “It’s a common phrase used in the ‘50s where they would just describe being in love, like if you were in the lavender haze that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow – and I thought that was very beautiful.”

Sources have details about the wedding dress designer.
