The Young and The Restless is making some major changes behind-the-scenes.
The long-running CBS soap opera series just hired two new co-head writers, who will start the first week of August.
Dan O’Connor and Jamey Giddens will be taking over after head writer Josh Griffith exited after two decades on and off with the show, People reports.
Jamey shared the news on his Instagram, writing: “A little bit of news. I am honored to be the new Co-Head Writer of @youngandrestlesscbs with @danjoc. Thank you, @soapsteph for the amazing article! Genoa City, here we come!”
Jamey has previously written for Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives, while Dan has worked on One Life to Live and General Hospital, where he was also co-head writer.
It was recently revealed that The Young and the Restless leads all daytime drama categories with 18 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, amid this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards nominations.
The Young and the Restless has aired since March 1973, currently airing weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS and also streaming on Paramount+. Two years ago, the show was renewed by CBS to run through the 2027–2028 television season.
