Tom Holland and Zendaya are staying very busy this July.
Their new movie The Odyssey opened nationwide in theaters on Friday, July 17, but Tom and Zendaya are pulling double-duty this month with their upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day hitting cinemas at the end of July.
On Friday (July 17), while celebrating the release of Christopher Nolan‘s movie, the married couple were spotted separately at different outings in New York before getting together for another date night.
Zendaya was seen in a Louis Vuitton black leather ensemble at one point, and at another she went out in a structured gray top with burgundy pants, while Tom favored a striped sweater and jeans for his solo venture.
But Tom still made time to joke about the Euphoria star’s character in The Odyssey.
What Tom Holland said about Zendaya’s character Athena in The Odyssey
In a video interview for Wired, the Spider-Man actor read a submitted question that said, “Did Athena love Odysseus romantically?”
Tom said, “No,” the reason being… “because she’s married to me,” he joked.
His co-stars, including Odysseus actor Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson all laughed good-naturedly about his answer and Matt agreed with it, saying, “Yep. Good answer.”
Tom Holland asked another question about Athena and Odysseus
Tom read another submitted question about the relationship between Matt and Zendaya‘s character.
“Why does Athena choose Odysseus?” he read.
“This is difficult in the context of our movie without giving things away. Because does Athena choose Odysseus or does Odysseus choose Athena?” Matt answered, before adding, “Spoiler alert. That’s all we can say.”
Sadly, however, Tom and Zendaya do not actually share scenes together in The Odyssey, but they both star in Brand New Day and will be a huge part of that one.
