Jon Bernthal is starring in the new movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day!
The 49-year-old actor reprises his Marvel role as The Punisher/Frank Castle in the latest installment of the MCU.
In the movie, he co-stars alongside Tom Holland and Zendaya in their second movie released in the past couple of weeks, following The Odyssey. Before the two recent films, Jon and Tom also starred in the 2017 movie Pilgrimage.

Jon Bernthal is married to Erin Angle
Jon has been married to Erin Angle for nearly 16 years!
The longtime couple first met in 2000 at a party when they were both first getting started in their careers.
“I came over and was just rudely messing around, and I know this is the corniest thing in the world, but when I actually saw Erin, it was literally like angels were singing,” he revealed to Men’s Health in December 2018. “I had never seen anyone so beautiful.”
They talked for 45 minutes and later started dating. Then, ten years later, they got married in September 2010 in Potomac, Maryland, and his acting teacher was their officiant!
What does Erin do? In 1998, she got her nursing degree, and in 2008, she received her Master of Science degree in anesthesiology, per her LinkedIn profile.
Erin is no stranger to being close to someone famous, as her uncle is WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle!
Jon and Erin are parents to three children
A year after Jon and Erin tied the knot, they welcomed their first child together, son Henry, who is now 15.
In 2013, the couple welcomed their second child, another son, named Billy. Then, in 2015, they welcomed their daughter, Adeline, who can be seen pictured with Jon above, attending the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in Los Angeles on July 28th.
When Adeline was young, she was diagnosed with encephalitis and went into a coma for several days, but Erin stayed by her side the whole time.
“People talk about bravery like fake macho bravery, but my wife didn’t flinch,” Jon shared, via People. “What I saw in my wife was courage and beauty unlike I’d ever seen.”
Jon occasionally shares photos with his wife and kids on Instagram, most recently a cute throwback family photo in early July.

Jon shares the secret to his almost 16-year marriage
“My marriage with her, it’s very aspirational,” Jon told Esquire in June 2026. “Like, I’m still begging her to go out with me, begging her to hang out with me.”
“She’s the one. I mean, I know what it’s like to not have her. I know what I am without her, and it just doesn’t work,” he added. “I think it’s easy to start going down a road of, like, ‘I need this,’ or ‘I need that.’ And, honestly, I do think about, like, masculinity a lot, and I know there’s such a plight right now for boys. I know it’s really hard being a boy, a young man right now. I know it’s very hard.”
“But I think part of it — and maybe I’ll get in trouble for this — is sometimes you gotta shut the f— up, man. Like, turn that s— off and be there for the people you love. Like, that’s a real part of it.”
“There are things that my wife depends on me to be, and I love being those things,” Jon says. “Like, when I can be those things, and when I’m not those things, it doesn’t work, you know?”
“And I think that a marriage is a genuine partnership, and it’s up to you to keep dating each other, and to keep being friends, and to acknowledge the growth in each other. But mostly, you know, it’s you got to be there. You just got to be there, and you got to be the thing that the other person really needs, and you can’t put yourself first. Like, that’s the oath you took.”
