We have some Heated Rivalry season two news, but fans won’t be too happy!

Actor Jack Innanen revealed two months ago that he had been having “conversations” about joining the cast of the new season. Ever since it was announced that the Crave gay hockey series had been renewed for a second season, fans had been dream casting the 27-year-old Canadian actor/comedian to play either Wyatt Hayes or Troy Barrett.

Well, it looks like he was actually offered a role in season two…but unfortunately, he cannot do the series.

EW is reporting that he “received an offer for a starring role but was unable to accept due to production conflicts.” If you don’t know, Jack also stars in FX’s Adults and Netflix’s Big Mistakes.

Season two will begin filming in August and debut in April 2027.

The hit gay hockey series – based on the book of the same name by Rachel Reid – premiered on Crave and HBO Max in November 2025. Weeks after the show premiered, stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams officially announced that Heated Rivalry had been renewed for a second season. Find out who else we expect to return for the second season.
