Meghan Markle stepped out to support the new documentary Cookie Queens this week!

The Duchess of Sussex participated in a Q&A after a screening of the movie on Tuesday (July 28) at AMC The Grove 14 in Los Angeles.

Meghan was joined at the event by director Alysa Nahmias, moderator Jessica Radloff, and some of the girls who are featured in the documentary.

A celebration of girlhood and the complexities that come with it, Cookie Queens is a coming-of-age story about the joys, pressures, and tensions woven into one of America’s most cherished rituals: Girl Scout Cookie season.

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, are executive producers on the project.

At the screening, Meghan explained why she and Harry joined the project.

“It’s more than just about the Girl Scouts and certainly more than just about Girl Scout cookies,” she said (via People). “It’s about girlhood, which Alysa has said quite a bit as we’ve been working through promoting the show, but also it’s about families.”

Meghan continued, “I think it’s just such a brilliant portrayal of a really important part of Americana. When I describe it to people, I say, ‘I know you think it’s just gonna be a cutesy film about cookies…’ And yes, while it is very cute and there are lots of great things about cookies, I mean, I don’t know about you guys, but every time we’ve seen it, there’s not a dry eye in the house… There’s just so many really meaningful, grounding moments that I think will make it much more resonant than just something that’s cute. It is so much bigger than that, and that’s a testament to Alysa and the crew and really how hard they’ve worked on this.”
