The Off Campus team is issuing a warning to diehard fans of the series.
The hit new Amazon Prime Video series has been drumming up tons of attention online, and not all of it has been positive. On Thursday (June 11), the show’s social media accounts were forced to share a statement urging the fandom to be kind to the cast.
“The Off Campus community is built on a shared love of storytelling – and on respect for the real people who bring it to life. We ask that everyone in this space extend that respect to our cast and the people in their lives,” read the statement.
The end of the statement included a warning to anyone who might be considering participating in any kind of “targeted harassment.”
“Accounts that engaged in targeted harassment will be removed from following our accounts.”
This “special request” arrives as the show prepares to head into production for its highly anticipated second season.
Because its first season gave Prime Video huge viewership numbers and the series was already renewed ahead of its premiere, fans are hopeful that season 2 will arrive quickly, especially now that we know it will be focusing on Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Dean’s (Stephen Kalyn) relationship.
If you didn’t hear, Mika and her now ex-fiancé Jake Short have addressed a controversial podcast clip that resurfaced online recently in the wake of their split. Jake also issued his own separate statement.
